Are pre-existing conditions covered?

No. Short-term health insurance does not cover pre-existing conditions. If you have a medical incident caused by a pre-existing condition while under a short-term policy you are responsible for treatment. Only new accidents and illnesses are covered, subject to the deductible and coinsurance.
